We recently hosted 4 youths from other countries as part of the Lions Youth Camps and Exchange Program
Lions Youth Camps and Exchange (YCE) has programs all around the world and is designed for young people between the ages of 15 and 22 to create and foster a spirit of understanding among peoples of the world.
By providing an avenue for global fellowship, the YCE program aims to help youth initiate, grow and maintain international relationships promoting cultural education and international peace.
Youth camps are 1-2 weeks long and bring together young people from around the world where they get the chance to learn more about the host country, make new friends, and embark on exciting activities, visits, and experiences.
This year 4 young people are being hosted in 105SW. Our visitors are from Mexico, Netherlands, Hungary and Slovenia.
During their 10 days with us they were joined by 2 girls from Italy being hosted by Bradley Stoke Lions Club.
On day 10 we took the 4 young people who were staying with us to Bristol Bus and Coach Station for their journey to Rickmansworth for the Youth Camp element of their stay in the UK.
We met up with the girls who stayed with Bradley Stoke Lions. They will be joining up with other youths who have been hosted around the British Isles for Youth Camp.
We know they will have another 10 great days ahead of them at camp.
For us, we had 10 great days with 6 fantastic young people. An experience definitely worth being part of!
